Resolve is an alkaline detergent designed for use as a general purpose cleaner, degreaser and sanitiser. Resolve is suitable for use in registered food preparation establishments.
Resolve is a water soluble cleaner‐degreaser which rapidly emulsifies, suspends and removes all types of animal, vegetable and petroleum oils. It is also extremely efficient at removing greases and grime in industrial, commercial and food processing areas.
Resolve being a non‐flammable water based detergent makes the ideal replacement for solvent based cleaners‐ degreasers. Resolve does not impart any cleaning odours.

Here are 5 frequently asked questions about Whiteley Resolve All Purpose Heavy Duty Detergent & Sanitiser (5 Litre), compiled from common user inquiries.
1. Is Whiteley Resolve safe to use in commercial kitchens and food prep areas?
Yes. Whiteley Resolve is fully approved for use in registered food preparation establishments. It is a water-soluble, alkaline cleaner-degreaser that effectively breaks down animal fats, vegetable oils, and general kitchen grime without leaving any heavy cleaning odours or chemical perfumes behind that could taint food.
2. What are the correct dilution ratios for different cleaning tasks?
Because it is a highly concentrated heavy-duty formula, you need to dilute it with water depending on the job:
-
Sanitising: 50mL per Litre of water ($1:20$).
-
Heavy Soil Degreasing / Spray & Wipe: 200mL per Litre of water ($1:5$).
-
Normal Soil / Light Spray & Wipe: 50mL per Litre of water ($1:20$).
-
Floor Mopping (Bucket or Autoscrubber): 20mL per Litre of water ($1:50$).
3. Do I need to rinse surfaces after using Whiteley Resolve?
Yes, on food-contact surfaces. While it doesn't leave lingering odors, you must rinse any surface that directly contacts food with clean, potable water after cleaning and sanitising. For non-food surfaces like floors or walls, rinsing is typically not required unless there is heavy residual soil.
4. What makes this product safer than traditional heavy-duty degreasers?
Unlike many industrial degreasers, Whiteley Resolve does not contain any butyl solvents. It is a non-flammable, water-based formulation designed to be a safer, eco-friendlier alternative to harsh solvent cleaners while keeping the exact same heavy-duty cutting power against oils and petroleum grimes.
5. What safety precautions or PPE should I use when handling it?
According to the safety data sheet (SDS), concentrated Whiteley Resolve has a high pH (12.2–13.7), which classifies it as a skin irritant that can cause serious eye damage if splashed. You should always wear protective gloves and safety glasses/goggles when handling or diluting the concentrated 5L liquid.
Quick Tip
To get the absolute best value out of your 5-Litre bottle, always use a measured pump dispenser or a marked measuring cup to mix your spray bottles. Eyeballing a concentrated heavy-duty product like Resolve usually leads to over-use, which not only wastes money but can leave a sticky, alkaline residue on your floors and benches that attracts dirt faster.
